Pale Sister, a 75’ one woman play produced by Angelica Films and Nevision in association with Riverside Studios, commissioned by BBC Arts, has been picked up globally (excluding the UK) by Marquee TV, the premium arts streaming service. Written by celebrated author Colm Tóibín for award-winning actress Lisa Dwan and directed by Sir Trevor Nunn, the play reimagines Sophocles’ Greek tragedy of Antigone from the point of view of her sister, Ismene.
Both productions were Executive Produced by Anne Morrison, Creative Director, Factual programming at Nevision. Commenting on the deals she said: “As producers our aim is to make programmes that resonate with both a local and international audience. Both of these shows have universal themes and we are thrilled that they have all found homes on global broadcast platforms.”
Jonathan Ford, Managing Director at Abacus Media Rights comments, “We’re delighted to be working with Nevision. We are pleased that so many platforms and broadcasters internationally have acquired these titles and look forward to announcing further sales.”
