ABACUS MEDIA RIGHTS TO DISTRIBUTE AMOS PICTURES’ EXCLUSIVE ANDREW TATE DOCUMENTARY
Abacus Media Rights (AMR), an Amcomri Entertainment Company, has acquired worldwide sales rights (excluding the UK) to Amos Pictures’ feature documentary (In)Famous: Andrew Tate, which examines the rapid rise of controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate.

The 36-year-old American-born ex-kickboxer and porn entrepreneur Andrew Tate achieved global superstar status on social media by lacing self-help techniques and get-rich-quick schemes with toxic misogyny. He has gained millions of followers – largely young men – on TikTok and Twitter, and as his fame sky-rocketed he has been banned by most platforms.  At the end of last year Tate – who has never hidden the fact that he has made a fortune managing webcam porn models – was arrested by Romanian police on suspicion of rape, organized crime and human trafficking.  He remains in jail along with his brother Tristan.

Helmed by multiple award-winner Dan Reed, leading UK independent production house Amos Pictures (Leaving Neverland; In the Shadow of 9/11; Four Hours at the Capitol) has secured full access to Tate and will document the build-up and aftermath of his arrest and seek to unravel the many allegations that have been made. Gathering extensive footage of Tate made over the last decade –much of it never seen before – and seeking out figures from his personal life who can shed light on his journey, the film will ask how it is Tate became so famous so fast.

Directed by Maggie Gaudin and executive produced by Dan Reed the film will meet some of his legions of Tate supporters to ask why his message of self-actualization through wealth and control over women speaks powerfully to so many, while also hearing from parents and educators who are terrified of Tate’s influence on the teenage boys in their care.

The documentary was commissioned in the UK by Channel 4.

Dan Reed comments, “We are very pleased to be working again with AMR who have a great track record in getting our unique documentaries out to a wide international audience.  We haven’t set out to create a tabloid ‘shock doc’ but a balanced and investigative piece.  We want to tell the real story of Andrew Tate – how and why he has become an international influencer to so many young adults who hero-worship him.  Tate has given us full access and we’re looking forward to carrying on filming once he gets out of jail.”

Jonathan Ford, Managing Director at AMR comments, “It is a privilege to further represent a significant and timely documentary from Amos Pictures on the global stage.  This is a must-see film from the masters of powerful factual film-making which reveals the huge influence that social media can deliver on a global scale with limited controls or filters.”
