THE LEADER, HIS DRIVER AND THE DRIVER'S WIFE

The Leader, His Driver and The Driver’s Wife portrays the sinister and comic sides of Eugene Terre‘Blanche, leader of the neo-Nazi AWB Afrikaner Party in South Africa.

The leader is doggedly followed around the country by Broomfield as he addresses rallies whipping up white hostility towards the ANC and Nelson Mandela. Lulling the leader and his supporters into a false sense of security with his bumbling, faux–naïve style, Broomfield succeeds in managing to get Terre’Blanche to bear his fangs in a way no other filmmaker could.

"Besides its entertainment value, it offers insight into the different approaches that can be taken when making a documentary film." 24 TIMES PER SECOND
