HEROES FOR THE PLANET

Heroes for the Planet showcases individuals who are working all over the world to make Earth more liveable, breathable, and sustainable for all.

From the world’s first electric airplane to sustainable fashion lines, every episode of Heroes for the Planet is an intimate portrayal of the inspirational and unique characters behind the world's most necessary and important small businesses and inventions. Across a variety of fields and expertise, these entrepreneurs are baking
social good into the very fabric of their lives... and ours.

EPISODE 1: GUARDIANS

The Choco rainforest located in Ecuador rivals the Amazon in biodiversity and yet
only 2% of the rainforest remains due to illegal logging. Topher White has a solution, a “Guardian” -- a solar-powered listening device made of old cell phones that can be affixed hundreds of feet up on trees and report sounds of chainsaws to rangers in real time.

EPISODE 2: POWER

Nthabi and her co-founders at Easy Solar aim to bring back the power to one of
the world’s poorest countries, Sierra Leone, by harnessing the one thing that cannot be taken away: the sun.

EPISODE 3: PROJECT KAKUMA

In the largest refugee camp in the world, the children are hungry learners but lack the school infrastructure to support their active minds. The Maggie Project has a way to help: new schools made out of recyclable and sustainable tent-like material that can withstand decades, and is refugee camp approved.
