BORN TO COOK - JACK STEIN DOWN UNDER

Jack Stein, son of Rick, is quick, charming and ever-so self-deprecatingly British. Along with Rick Stein, Jack is in Australia looking for new ideas for the Rick Stein restaurants in the UK and Australia.

Jack Stein is the young chef at the helm of the generation of Brits shaking up the restaurant scene. Quick, charming and ever-so deprecatingly British, Jack has recently taken charge of the nine restaurants under the Stein brand conceived by his celebrity father Rick.

Season 1: Margaret River

Along with his father, Jack is in Margaret River for the annual pilgrimage to Gourmet Escape, and with the weight of a restaurant empire behind him, Jack is on a mission to find fresh inspiration and unique ingredients across the pond, in the foodie Mecca that is Australia’s South-West. This 4 x 26 minute factual series is a humour-driven philosophical feast of natural produce and an exploration of the unorthodox ways that a rising tide of back-to-the-land food producers are a changing the landscape of food.

Season 2: The Kimberley

This time he heads North-West to the spectacular Kimberley Region with its red cliffs, blue skies and green ocean. One of the most pristine areas in the world. And one of the most dangerous too.

From Broome’s famous Cable Beach, to the pearl farms in remote Kuri Bay, the massive farms of Kununurra and the spectacular gorges of El Questro station. Throw this all together and we’ve got a recipe for a fresh, light and simple cooking experience as Jack egdes in his professional home-tips to give even the most basic home chef’s dish the “wow” factor.
