In 1971 12 young men were subjected to a secret British torture programme in Northern Ireland. They’re known as the Hooded Men.
For 50 years they have fought with the British State to uncover the truth of what happened to them. It is a story with ramifications far beyond the UK.
Through the intimate first-hand testimony, as well as the British security forces who opposed them, along with the declassified government documents, this is the story of one of the darkest episodes in British intelligence history and how it provided a blueprint for the some of the most notorious state sponsored torture in recent years.
