Set for release in the UK and Ireland later this year, Savage Waters, a 93-minute adventure documentary, is an intimate portrait of modern adventurers as they follow clues left in a 19th century treasure-hunter’s journal to find and ride a mythical wave in some of the most dangerous waters of the Atlantic.
From multi-award-winning director Mikey Corker (Lord of War, Beneath the Surface), Savage Waters is produced by Ghislaine Couvillat (Girls Can’t Surf, La Quête du sauvage) and executive produced by Kathleen Glynn (Bowling for Columbine, Fahrenheit 9/11), Peggy Cafferty (Ladder 49), Lorcan Kavanagh (The Midnight Man) and Maia Norman.
Narrated by Primetime Emmy and BAFTA nominated actor Charles Dance (Mank, Game of Thrones, The Imitation Game), this fascinating film boasts jaw-dropping cinematography, and follows remarkable protagonists, for whom living life to the full often means putting themselves in harm’s way.
The original score was composed by the artist duo AVAWAVES, consisting of Aisling Brouwer and Anna Phoebe. AVAWAVES are signed to One Little Independent Records and are published and represented by Manners McDade.
Tull Stories will release Savage Waters theatrically as part of its growing Adventure Club strand, before releasing on VOD.

A 19th century treasure-hunter’s journal inspires a captivating journey to seek out and surf a mythical, never-ridden wave in some of the most remote and dangerous waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
For renowned skipper, Matt Knight, sailing to unpredictable and uncharted regions is impossible to resist. As a lifelong thrill-seeker, he is constantly testing the limits of what’s possible, something world-class big wave surfer Andrew Cotton has also built his career on. With family and friends, they board the beautiful catamaran Hecate and follow clues to this ‘perfect wave’, but not everything goes to plan, with serious injury and life-threatening challenges testing the crew’s resilience and attitudes towards risk.
