DIANA AND SARAH: THE ROYAL WIVES OF WINDSOR

An intimate documentary portrait of the two most controversial royals.

It started with high hopes and fairytale royal weddings. It ended with scandal and bitter accusations as both couples announced that their were finished and Diana and Sarah the ‘Royal Wives of Windsor’, became royal outcasts.

Using unique BBC archive footage – including exclusive, specially-shot pictures– this dramatic and revealing documentary tells the story of two remarkable young royals who flew in the face of convention and made shock waves that rocked the monarchy to its very foundations.

It charts the tragic breakdown of Diana’s marriage to Prince Charles, her struggle against debilitating eating disorders, the twin scandals of the ‘Camillagate’ and ‘Squidgygate’ tapes, and how her young sons and charitable causes brought new purpose to her new life.

Sarah never lacked confidence – and it led to her ultimate downfall.  We see how her marriage to Prince Andrew crumbled, her fate sealed by alleged extra-marital affairs and the publication of scandalous photos.
